CLEANING & CARE

Thai silk, though durable, is a delicate fabric that cannot be treated like linen or cotton.
Dry cleaning method would be the answer for the original appearance.
Washing Thai Silk is equally recommendable. The most important thing is to use the mildest soap. Rinse the silk item in tepid water as many times as necessary, never WRING it. In the last rinse add a spoon of clear, white vinegar to retain its original lustre and allow it to drip dry in the shade.
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES EVER PUT THAI SILK IN THE MACHINE, either for washing or dry cleaning.
It is better to iron THAI SILK on the wrong side just before it is dry or put a damp cloth over the surface and iron over it.
IN BUYING THAI SILK, it is best to go to the shops who are members of the THAI SILK ASSOCIATION so that you can be sure of the quality.
Thai Silk has become Thailand’s booster. The Tourist Organization of Thailand and the Board of Export Promotion use it in their overseas publicity campaign.
In addition, a Board of Thai Silk Promotion has been set up to encourage the development of the industry. With the view to maintaining quality control, Thai silk fabric was placed under the supervision of the Office of Commodity Standards in November 1968.
